A digital twin, two key components
To effectively manage and optimize a complex transportation network, a digital twin must solve a two-fold equation: combining computational power with simplicity of use. At Weenlo, we have chosen to structurally separate these two challenges by designing a two-pillar architecture.
On one hand, the calculation engine deals exclusively with solving complex operational constraints to validate and optimize your logistics scenarios. On the other hand, the user interface serves as a gateway, allowing decision-makers to voice their business challenges, configure simulations, and define their master plans. Rather than applying a single technology to entirely different problems, our platform targetedly deploys the right innovation for the right use case.
The Engine: Frugal AI to ensure reliability
When it comes to route planning or redesigning a master plan, approximation has no place in operations. This is where generative AI reaches its limits: while it excels at generating language, it is not designed to guarantee an optimal solution under multiple logistics constraints. It operates on approximations, produces unverifiable outputs, suffers from a black-box effect, and poses critical risks of factual hallucinations on the ground. To address this, Weenlo places Operations Research at the core of its engine. This frugal AI delivers certified optimal results with a mathematical guarantee, fully respecting 100% of your business constraints.
The Interface: Generative AI to accelerate interaction
While mathematics drive the engine, generative AI finds its legitimate place within the user interface to make the power of frugal AI accessible to everyone. Generative AI does not attempt to calculate; it dialogues in natural language to directly translate your business needs into modeling parameters. On the surface, this technology considerably simplifies the process and boosts your strategic studies. It supports you throughout the entire cycle by helping you orchestrate simulation scenarios to test different hypotheses, while acting as a security filter that detects errors or anomalies in your input data before launching the calculation.
Sobriety and Sovereignty: Proof by the Numbers
Beyond operational performance, choosing frugal AI is a strong eco-responsible commitment. A large language model pays a colossal energy debt linked to its training before its very first query, whereas operations research requires no training and simply calculates. Consequently, a heavy optimization on our platform for a national network, representing about four hours of calculation, emits only 60g of CO2. For the same task, a traditional language model would emit two to eight times more CO2 for an unguaranteed result.
By way of comparison, these 60g of CO2 are equivalent to driving about 460 meters in an average car, watching one hour of video streaming, or sending fewer than two emails with attachments. Furthermore, all of our calculations are hosted in France by Scaleway, an independent cloud provider powered 100% by renewable energy, while our global environmental approach is certified ISO 14083 to ensure complete sovereignty and total traceability.
